Ministra Pro 1.18.0 | May 2026

New features​

  • In the content popup menu, a new Play from the beginning option allows end users to restart playback from the beginning of a program. This feature is configurable (default: false).

  • Recording content in the TV Guide can now be configured using KEYCODE_RECORD.

Improvements​

  • The app has been updated to a newer Android platform version (API level 36), improving compatibility and alignment with the latest system requirements.

  • The on-screen keyboard has been updated, including enhanced error handling and keeping the keyboard visible after an error is displayed.

  • In full-screen mode, an optional on-screen keyboard is available to end users. This improvement is configurable (default: false).

Bug fixes​

  • Fixed an issue with the Hungarian translation.

  • Fixed an issue where a dash symbol (-) was displayed when selecting Play.

  • Fixed an issue where, in the EPG Guide, selecting Play in Preview opened the channel in full screen-mode instead of preview mode.

New features​

The following new features are available with backend version 6.33.0:

  • Introduced Channel Teaser Mode, which allows users to see channels and EPG information in the TV Channels list, even if those channels are not included in their main tariff plan.

  • Redesigned the screens tiles in the horizontal carousel. Custom background images are now supported for each screen.

  • End users can now be automatically logged in on a device by using the MAC address as an identifier.

  • Enhanced DVR playback by supporting a configurable start and end offset time that extends the playback window without affecting original program duration.

  • End users can now sort their favourites by the order in which they were added.

  • Added backend logging for viewing the details of Error playing content events.

  • Timeshift TV playback behaviour can now be configured to allow end users to return to live TV, or to continue timeshift playback.

  • Added an optional EPG button to the control panel of the full-screen player.

Improvements​

  • Updated the TV Channels rich template which is a template for defining how content is displayed in TV Guide and TV Channels screens.

  • Support information is now rendered directly from backend HTML content.

  • For the TV Guide and home screens, the background colour of a TV channel logo can now be configured to improve visibility.

  • For Timeshift TV, end users can now use a seek bar to preview content thumbnails.

  • Renamed the TV Channel Switching setting to TV Screen Channel Switch.

  • Improved how available storage space for recordings is displayed.

  • Added Dutch translations to the demo code page.

  • Updated the layout of error messages to improve support for localization.

Bug fixes​

  • Fixed an issue where updated channel logos were not refreshing in the application.

  • For TV Channels rich, fixed the incorrect button labels in the optional list, and the program information side menu.

  • For the home, Recordings, and Search screens, fixed an issue with the alignment of error messages.

  • When searching, fixed an issue where channels protected by parental control were displayed.

  • Fixed an issue where program preview images were updated incorrectly.

  • On the TV Guide screen, fixed an issue where long button labels were cut off when end users selected an EPG program to view more information.

  • On the Recordings screen, fixed an alignment issue when scrolling through the content.

  • In the EPG, fixed the issue affecting the Info side menu when previewing another channel.

  • In the TV Guide, fixed a focus issue when launching full-screen playback from preview after minimising the application.

  • Fixed a crashing issue during program notification checks.

  • In the classic template, end users can now access archive content even if the EPG for the current day is unavailable.

Improvements​

  • In the EPG Guide and TV Channel screens, a contextual placeholder is displayed when the EPG is unavailable.

  • In the EPG Guide and TV Channel screens, the program carousel has been simplified to display only the start time of each program.

Bug fixes​

  • Fixed an issue with incorrect clock display on MAG500 devices connected to an LG TV.

  • End users can now switch between TV channels faster and more smoothly.

  • You can now display an external link to your website on the login screen of the Ministra Pro application.

  • You can now enable end users to automatically record episodes by adding the allow-rps-create-tasks-option module to the end user's service package when the Recordings Planner Service (RPS) is installed on the backend.

  • The application now always reports the current application version, which can be viewed in the Ministra Pro Admin Panel.

  • Added a customization option to change the application font to Montserrat.

Bug fixes​

  • For AOSP, fixed an issue where the TV channels list was not displayed after the device exited standby mode.

  • Fixed an issue where an incorrect error message was displayed after the application was minimized while the device had no internet connection.

  • Fixed an issue where the application did not request the available candidates on startup when there was no internet connection.

  • From backend version 6.32.0, the EPG update event is now supported, which updates the list of available TV channels.

    • A new limit_exceeded event is available.

    • In the NPVR screen, groups are now supported and pagination is removed.

Improvements​

  • Improved the application user interface to correctly handle instances where the VOD or home screens contain no content.

  • By default, an on-screen clock is displayed in the right-hand corner of the screen when the application is in full-screen mode.

  • Updated the notification screen to improve support for large text sizes.

  • When a 404 response is returned, the specific error is now displayed in the message.

  • From backend version 6.32.0, in the EPG for a channel, the season and episode number for a program is displayed next to the program name.

Bug fixes​

  • Fixed an issue with channel logo design updates.

  • Fixed an issue with unexpected focus behaviour.

  • Fixed an issue where the application was unresponsive when right-clicking screenshots in full‑screen mode.

  • Fixed an issue where the end user was logged out of the application when the Network Time Protocol (NTP ) server could not be reached.

  • Fixed an issue where end users could not exit from the search screen after reconnecting to the internet.

  • Fixed an issue where, when end users were viewing the home screen or VOD screen, after reconnecting to the internet, the TV Channels screen was displayed.

  • For TV Rich, fixed an issue where:

    • Opening a new age-restricted channel in full screen incorrectly displayed the previous channel’s logo and the parental control password.

    • The interface did not scroll to the beginning of the archive when the current program was unavailable but future programmes were available.

New features​

  • You can now play a video when end users open the Ministra Pro end-user application. If the video fails to load, a progress indicator is displayed.

  • You can now display your operator logo, for example, in the corner of the screen, when an end user is viewing content in full screen mode.

  • You can now display a clock when an end user is interacting with the controls, for example, selecting Play or Pause, or when switching channels.

Improvements​

  • Startup time for multicast streaming is now faster through VLC caching configuration.

  • Device locking is improved when the Ministra Pro application is used in kiosk mode.

  • Text size and weight can now be configured in the application for better readability, improving accessibility for users with visual impairments or preferences.

  • For IPTV channels, the background colour of a TV channel logo can now be changed to improve visibility.

  • The way the time duration and titles of VOD and home screen content is displayed is now standardized to improved consistency and user experience.

  • Spacing in the EPG is now aligned with the logo radius for a more uniform layout.

  • Information about the device being used to watch content now includes the backend device ID to improved diagnostics and support.

Bug fixes​

  • Fixed an issue where, when an end user paused the current program when watching Timeshift TV, the player panel displayed the next scheduled program

  • Fixed a response issue when an end user selected Back on the home screen or when watching recorded content.

  • Fixed an issue where, when an end user selected Back in the EPG, the underline that indicated the selected date was missing.

  • Fixed an invalid Accept Language header that displayed when an end user specified their preferred language, and stopped the channels list from loading.

  • Fixed an issue where an incorrect channel link was provided when an end user accessed a channel through a notification.

New features​

  • End users can now loop playback for VOD content to repeat a film or program after it ends.

  • End users can now configure the channel preview play behaviour in the Ministra Pro application.

  • When the channel preview behaviour is configured to begin playing when a channel is in focus, the delay time before a preview is played when switching to a new channel can now be defined.

  • New launch-option flags allow operators to specify which items are hidden in the user menu. The default setting displays all items in the user menu.

Improvements​

  • End users can now add a password to restrict certain NPVR content, for example, to prevent minors accessing unsuitable content.

  • End users can now scroll the logo and header menu.

  • The date of a recording is now displayed on the recorded program card.
